DESCRIPTION
- Introduced in 1967, the 250SL now featured a larger (2.5-Litre) engine, rear disc brakes and a larger tank
- Replaced in January 1968 by the 280SL, its one-year production run made the 250SL the rarest of the W113 Series
- Even rarer still was the 250SL 'California Coupé' in which the folded soft top was removed and the space utilised for a fold down rear bench making the car effectively a 2+2. The hardtop was redesigned to provide more headroom and a window for rearseat passengers
- The fact that if you left the hard top off, you became reliant on the weather remaining fair, meant that the majority of these coupés were sold, not surprisingly, in California
- This glorious example benefits from a photo-documented full restoration in the past
- It's been refinished in its original Blue Metallic 387 with a superb interior in black MB-Tex
- Original owners manual, service book, lots of receipts and invoices, and a fresh MOT
- A really lovely example and very hard to find in the UK
