SUMMARY
A rare surviving Austin 1100 Mk II with just over 18,000 miles and one keeper.
DESCRIPTION
- Amalgamated Drawing Office Project 16 was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and styled by Pininfarina
- Introduced in 1967, the Austin 1100 Mk II benefited from a slightly wider front grille and smoother tail light fitting
- According to its Heritage Trust Certificate, this example was built at Morris Motors in Cowley and finished in Tartan Red with a black vinyl interior
- Despatched to F.G Smith Motors of Ilford on 12/01/1968 and first registered on 09/03/1968
- The car was retained by its one and only keeper until recently, last being used we believe in 1991/2 then duly dry stored
- Found as part of a deceased estate so sadly there is no paperwork, however the general condition of the car suggests that the indicated mileage of 18,211 may well be correct
- Recently treated to new tyres, an oil change and new plugs and will have a fresh MOT for the sale
