DESCRIPTION

The first generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford Motor Company from April 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobille known as the "Pony" car. The Fastback version was put on sale the following year. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and engine power.

In 1968, the Ford Motor Company updated their existing models; 3 point lap and shoulder belts were included and air conditioning was offered as an option, along with other instrument improvements. The Mustang Fastback gained popular iconic status from the crime thriller, 'Bullitt', when actor Steve McQueen drove a modified Highland Green 1968 Mustang Fastback.

This particular car has been the subject of a full restoration and a few modifications to make it a more modern friendly and usable classic car. Its Highland Green exterior paint replicates the famous 'Bullitt' paint scheme. Meanwhile, a new engine was fitted in 2010 - a 402 stroker motor (6.5 litre) V8 - putting out a claimed 450+ bhp.

Most aspects of the running gear have been upgraded to better suit modern driving. This includes new Wilwood disc brakes, front and rear, for improved stopping power, a side exhaust - just like the one used for the 'Eleanor' GT 500 cars - new suspension, rack and pinion power steering, new alternator, radiator and anti-roll bar.

Inside, a brand new interior has been fitted with bucket seats, Alcantara inserts on the seats, front and back, and Alcantara door panels. Running a 5-speed manual transmission, the engine and running gear have covered just 6,000 miles and it is an exceptionally well put together and maintained car, with looks to match. There is a very extensive history file with the car and many invoices from the last 20 years.
