DESCRIPTION
The MG C was a 2912cc, straight-6 version of the original MGB that was sold from 1967 and stayed in production through to August 1969. In the twin SU carburettor form used in the MG C, the engine produced 145bhp at 5250rpm. The body shell needed considerable revision around the engine bay and to the floor pan, but externally the only differences were a distinctive bonnet bulge to accommodate the relocated radiator and the teardrop bulge that was needed to clear the carburettors. It had different brakes from the MGB, 15 inch wheels, lower geared rack and pinion and special torsion bar suspension with telescopic dampers. Like the MGB, it was available as a coupé and roadster. An overdrive gearbox or three-speed automatic gearbox were also available as options. The car was capable of 120mph and a 0-60mph time of 10.0 seconds.
Presented in the best and classic MG colours of tartan red with black interior this MG C is in lovely overall condition. Having stood for some time the car has recently come out of is hiding place and has now had some reconditioning so it is ready for use once again. Fitted with an automatic gearbox this makes it a great car for long distance touring as well as making it a very usable classic car.
The MG C is an often overlooked MG model however the larger engine and striking bonnet power bulge makes it stand out from its smaller brother the MGB.
