DESCRIPTION
2013 sees the 50th anniversary of the iconic Porsche 911 and the ever popular design continues to evolve right up to the current day. In 1969 the second generation of the car, known as the 'B' series, was introduced which featured an increase in the wheelbase from 2,211millimetres to 2,268. The car was rebadged as the Porsche 911 T and offered originally as a 2.0 litre, and later on in production as a 2.2 or 2.4.
This car is one of the original long wheel base 2.0 litre 'T' models from 1969, built in left hand drive and giving a reliable 170bhp from its flat six cylinder engine. It was the lengthening of the wheelbase that helped overcome the 'snap over-steer' for which the earlier generation of cars had become renowned.
Finished in its original colour of Oxford blue with black leather and retaining the original engine and gearbox, the car is presented as a highly original and unmolested example. Complete with original Fuchs alloy wheels the car looks and drives today as it did when launched. It offers a chance to own a period car that has not undergone updates or been involved in creating a replica of a later car. One for the serious collector and enthusiast, it retains all its original features both inside and out and appears to have been well kept and maintained, rather than restored, crashed or updated.
Prices in this sector of the market are recently starting to lift as people realise the rarity of original cars that remain faithful to the original factory specification. This 'matching numbers' car therefore offers fun classic car ownership, combined with legendary Porsche reliability and build quality. There is also the reassurance of a long term investment opportunity.
