SUMMARY

A very well presented example of Tom Karen's futuristic design, uprated to 850cc.

DESCRIPTION

  • The Bond Bug symbolised the fashionable youth culture of the early 1970s. The new decade continued the cultural revolution that began in the 'swinging sixties', and following their purchase of Bond Cars Ltd, Reliant focused their attention on breaking into the youth market with a new, trendy little three-wheeler
  • Originally fitted with a front-mounted 700cc Reliant light-alloy, four-cylinder, 32bhp and 78mph. This has now been uprated to 850cc
  • Finished in the classic Brilliant Tangerine with all the correct decals, over a black Vinyl interior
  • 700ES was the upmarket version fitted with an improved head, better seats, more padding, a spare wheel, and an ashtray
  • Supplied with older invoices dating back to the 1990s
  • A total of 2,268 Bond Bugs were built between 1970, and May 1974 and survivors are increasingly sought after today, with less than 100 reported left on UK roads
