SUMMARY
Offered without Reserve and from the Grand Tourers Collection with an odometer reading of 25,706 miles offering great value great value.
DESCRIPTION
The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits, and represents an era of stylish roadsters and hand-built coupes. Offered without Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention.
Series 2 E-Types were produced from 1969 to 1971 and can be identified by their open headlights (no longer with glass covers), a wrap-around rear bumper with the taillights now underneath and the front indicators were larger and similarly repositioned below the slightly heavier front bumpers. The cooling was much improved helped by the enlarged 'mouth' and the later cars featured twin electric fans and uprated brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam-covers to a ribbed appearance and for US-spec cars, twin Stromberg carburettors were used. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned, with flick switches being substituted by rocker switches to meet US-regulations.
This charming left-hand drive Series 2 E-Type left the factory with arguably the best combination of a 4.2-litre engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox in April 1970. Destined for the United States, the history file shows registration documents for a Mr Mark Davies of Pearland, Texas. The car was repatriated to the UK on 1st November 2015 according to the accompanying V5C. Presented with a history file with the aforementioned Texan Title documents, maintenance and parts receipts and an advisory-free MOT valid until the 25th September 2025.
Estimated keenly and offered without Reserve this car deserves serious consideration with an odometer reading of 25,706 miles.
