SUMMARY

Another astonishing garage find, a Mini 1275 GT with just one former keeper, offered at No Reserve.

DESCRIPTION

  • In order to prepare the Mini for the 1970s, it was restyled with a boxier front end featuring a full-width grille, larger headlights and a revised front bumper. The new model was offered in two trim levels - the Mini Clubman and the Mini 1275 GT
  • The new GT featured a 1,275cc four-cylinder A-Series, four-synchro, close-ratio, 4-speed gearbox, a tachometer, and 10" Rostyle alloy wheels fitted over 7.5" Cooper 'S' disc brakes
  • Our vendor acquired the car last year from a local family having assisted in waking it up from its 40-year slumber after, we understand, the clutch failed
  • The engine does turn and has been started briefly and the electrics appear to work with the exception of one bulb
  • With other examples of the 1275GT achieving great results recently, our vendor has wisely chosen to offer the car at No Reserve to encourage a wide audience
  • As with any project of this nature, we encourage interested parties to view the car at our sale to establish the amount of work required to return it to the road

Vehicle History

Remarks

The car was found by me last year in a small village where the GT was hidden away in a small garage belonging to the first and only owner before me, it parked up in the 70s due to the A panel rusting away and after that it has never been touched. I was able to rescue it. Sadly the owner had lost the paperwork but I have got the logbook in my name.
