DESCRIPTION

 

I believe the car was delivered new to California in 1972 from where I imported it in 2011 for conversion to rally spec for the 2012 London to Cape Town rally

The car was prepared for the rally by Rally Preparation Services of Witney – from memory the total cost (Including import of the car) was about £60k

Unfortunately we had an accident in Greece and so were not competitive in the rally thereafter – we did arrive in Cape Town first but were probably officially in last place

After our accident we spent 3-4 days in Greece getting the car back in shape (hence we were effectively out of the reckoning for the race result) but while in Athens we met a brilliant carburettor man – himself a rally driver (known locally as Motorman). After the rally was complete I sent the car back to Greece to have Motorman work his magic fully restoring and upgrading the car to the spec it is now in at a cost of about €15-€20k.

The car is in good shape and is really strong but has some bits of minor surface rust – it"s a driver"s car rather than a garage queen – ideal for endurance rallying

Motor vehicles

Vehicles can be collected from The Wing on Monday 2nd August between 9am and 3pm.

Our transport partners, EM Rogers, can assist with collection and delivery. Please contact them on

01604 755511 or trafficdesk@emrogers.co.uk for a quote.

Any cars not collected by 3pm on Monday 2nd August will be taken to our EM Rogers storage facility in

Northampton for a fee of £150 plus VAT. Storage will be charged at £10 plus VAT per day from Monday 2nd August onwards.

Motorcycles

Our motorcycle transport partners, Moving Motorcycles, can assist with collection and delivery.

Any motorcycles not collected by 3pm on Monday 2nd August will be taken to our transport partners facility in Northamptonshire for a

fee of £110 plus VAT, including 3 days storage. Storage will be charged at £5 plus VAT per day thereafter.

Automobilia

Automobilia can be collected from The Wing over the weekend or Monday morning between 9am

and midday by prior appointment. After this time it can be collected from our offices in

Warwickshire or shipped to you at your expense.
