DESCRIPTION

The line-up for the 1972-73 Porsche 911 range consisted of the entry level 'T', the mid-range 'E' and the top specification 'S'. All got the new 2,341cc engine in various levels of tune. Both the 911E and the 911S had mechanical fuel injection (MFI) giving 165bhp and 190bhp respectively. The transmission was also revised to handle the extra power, the dog leg first gear was dropped and the unit was designated the 915. For the 1972 model Porsche moved the weight forward and changed the position of the engine oil tank to sit in front of the rear wheel line. The remote filler was in the OS rear wing and became a characteristic feature for all 1972 911s'.

On offer here is an early 911E Targa that was delivered new on October 1st 1971 to Munich and built to German specification. Its original colour was Light Yellow with Black Leatherette interior. The Targa came to the UK in 1990 and has had seven owners since then. There is a full photographic record of the restoration, that was undertaken to a good standard in order to preserve this eye catching 911E, which of course is the side filler model. The Light Yellow is a very period Porsche colour and has become a unique statement of early 911s'. Naturally tax exempt, but with tax and MoT till April 2014 it's ready to be enjoyed.

All early seventies Porches have risen not only over the year but literally by the month...this could be the last chance at today's guide...
