SUMMARY

Early 1970s, right-hand drive, Japanese pick-up restored in South Africa three years ago and now imported to the UK.

DESCRIPTION

  • The Datsun 521 was a compact pick-up truck that was produced from 1968 to 1972 and was a restyled 520 with a flat-deck style bonnet and wings
  • The 521’s classic design is complemented by its functionality. With independent front suspension, a robust leaf-spring rear and a light-weight chassis, it handles comfortably for a vehicle of its age
  • A rare sight in the UK, this is a 1,500cc, right-hand drive example imported from South Africa having been restored three years ago by Mid City Motors in Klerksdorp and displayed in their showroom
  • Finished in Pastel Blue and generally well presented, it is driving and running, but does require some welding attention below the load bed and attention to the steering box. Further details can be found in the Seller Rating section
  • Perhaps it's nostalgia but over recent years there seems to be a growing demand for 1970s Japanese utility vehicles which certainly capture the 'Classic Car' factor, as well as being genuinely practical
