SUMMARY
Charity Lot, donated by Stephen Dix, a Practical Classics magazine reader - all proceeds, including our Buyers Premium, to Prostate Cancer UK.
DESCRIPTION
- Rover's 3500 was launched in 1968 with a Buick-derived 3,528cc V8 generating 161bhp and offering 0-60 in nine seconds and a top speed of 123mph - impressive for 1968
- This 1972 3500, with only 54,000 miles, has been donated to Show sponsors, Practical Classics magazine, by reader, Stephen Dix, to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK
- The vendor states 'I’ve owned it for 20 years and it’s a lovely example, but now it’s time for it to go on a new adventure. I’ve been inspired by the magazine's amazing support for charitable works, in particular Prostate Cancer UK, so I thought this would be another way to raise money'
- Finished in Russet Brown, it has been be lightly recommissioned but is largely original
- From Nick Whale, Chairman of CCA. 'We have made it lot number one at the NEC. It’s a beautiful, original, low-mileage example and a worthy way to start the auction, let’s hope it raises a fine sum for PCUK'
- From Practical Classics Editor, Danny Hopkins. 'Fantastic generosity from Stephen and Kaye Dix. What better way to celebrate a superb milestone in British motoring history? Every penny will go to the Charity and we will feature the new owner with the car in the magazine.'
