De Tomaso Pantera

De Tomaso's replacement for their successful Mangusta in 1971 was the avantgarde and stylish Pantera. Maintaining the best of the ingredients from the Mangusta, including the mid mounted 300 horse power Ford 351 cubic inch V8 Cleveland engine, 5 speed ZF transaxle and dramatic styling, the Pantera also added monocoque construction in to the mix.

The cars sold well with production running from 1971 through to the early 90s with various derivatives emerging from the factory, although it is the early cars that have a certain purity that has ensured they remain the most attractive and thus collectible.

The car offered here today is an early and very original car finished in French blue and is unmolested and faithful to it's original delivery specification, something rarely found with Panteras. It has had just 2 owners from new (in addition to the current vendor), the original Italian owner from Treviso, keeping the car from 1973 through to 1983, at which point the car had covered just 18,000 kms. The second American owner, from Sacramento, California exported the car to the States and enjoyed the car right up until 2010 when the car was repatriated to Europe at a total mileage of 41,000 kms - approx 25,700 miles.

With excellent bodywork, original and well maintained interior seats, carpets, gauges and switches, original chromework and wheels, the car appears to have never been restored but remains very well preserved.

In summary - a real time warp car, faithful to its factory specification, ideal for the connoisseur appreciating originality.
