1973 Ginetta G15

In 1967 the Ginetta G15 was launched and utilised a Hillman Imp engine. This attractive but quirky two-seater coupe had a glass fibre body bolted to a tubular chassis with Imp rear and Triumph front suspension. Over 800 examples were made up to 1974 and the car was fully type approved, allowing both factory produced and home-built models to be built. This little Ginetta G15 had a complete rebuild some 4,500 miles ago. At that time it had a new chassis and a rebuilt engine. It is an Ian Carter built, 998cc Clubman engine with R17 cam, wills rings, twin weber 40"s mated to a close ratio Gearbox, Janspeed Combined manifold and electronic ignition rev limiter. According to the owner, "this engine has proved to be totally reliable over is 4500 mile history." The car has also had its suspension all set up at individual corners. It has genuine Minilite wheels, very good tyres, half roll cage, racing seats with competition belts andit boasts an aluminium fuel tank with external refill in front bonnet. Evidently, this example would make an ideal sprint, hillclimb or fast-road entrant. Supplied with a current MoT until August 2014 and taxed until October, the V5 is in the current owner's name. The car was previously campaigned by Ray Stammers with great success and it is well known to the G15 owner's club. The vendor is selling the car due to lack of storage space and there is a large amount of paperwork in the history file. Offered today without reserve.
