1973 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa

In the early seventies, Porsche were in a "rich vein" of competition success. It`s not surprising that the 2.4 litre 911 variants of that time are considered a reflection of that engineering prowess. Race input had resulted in revised suspension pick-up points and Koni dampers enhancing the 911 'S'. Power from the 2.4 fuel injected unit had now reached 190bhp, giving a wonderful free revving engine - resulting in 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 144mph. The 915 5-speed gearbox completed the package.Steve McQueen helped to immortalise the 911 'S' in a "reflective moment" at the Sarthe in the film "Le Mans".

"BJH 133L" is a matching numbers, original right hand drive UK 2.4S registered 23rd March 1973 and was purchased by our vendor 30 years ago. The odometer shows 35,000 miles and documents substantiate it to be a warranted 135,000.

From 1999-2010 this stunning 911 was subjected to a full nut and bolt restoration and bare metal re-spray in its original colour Hellgelb by Moto Technique in Sussex. The black leatherette Recaro's were recovered and the salt and pepper carpets replaced. The engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt by BS Motorsport in Wescott Buckinghamshire and since then has covered a mere 1500 miles.
