DESCRIPTION
The Alfa Romeo 105/115 series Coupés were built from 1963 until 1977. They were the successors to the celebrated Giulietta Sprint coupé and used the shortened floor-pan from the Giulia saloon car. The basic body shape, shared by all models, was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone. It was one of his first major projects for Bertone and is often regarded as one of his finest commercial projects. It borrowed heavily from his earlier design for the Alfa Romeo 2000 Sprint/2600 Sprint. The balance of glass and metal, the influence of the shape of the front and rear glass on the shape of the cabin and the flat grille with incorporated headlamps were all considered ground-breaking styling features for the era.
Often considered as one of the best looking and handling classic saloon cars with its 5-speed gearbox, all round disc brakes, independent suspension and torquey engine they were very advanced for the time and have the capability to embarrass many of their modern counterparts.
This charming little 1600 GT Junior was manufactured at Alfa Romeo spa Arese, Milan in August 1975, as confirmed by the Automobilismo Storico archive department. Finished in Rosso Alfa with black Alfatex interior, NDM489P has had only four former keepers since it was first registered on 13th November 1975. The odometer currently reads a mere 66,000 genuine miles from new, as supported by MoT test certificates and service history. Recent work includes a rear suspension overhaul, new upgraded Goodyear Eagle tyres, H4 halogen headlamp upgrade, re-trimmed front seats using original pattern covers and new original pattern door cards. This beautiful Alfa Romeo is known to the 105/115 Giulia register and is in very good original order. These wonderful drivers' cars are increasingly hard to find in such good order and this example offers glamorous classic car ownership for a very reasonable price.
