DESCRIPTION
The Alfa Romeo Giulia (105 series) was built as a sports 4-door family car. Alfa was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a light-weight car for mainstream production and the Giulia weighed about 1,000 kilograms (2,205 lb). The car was equipped with a light alloy twincam four-cylinder engine, similar to that of the earlier Giulietta model range. Engine capacities offered were 1.3-litre (1,290 cc) or 1.6-litre (1,570 cc). This 1975 Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super Saloon was bought by the current owner, a professional classic car restorer, in 2006. It was meticulously restored by the last owner in Germany during the 1990s and was finished to a very high specification. There is lots of German paperwork in history file including German TUV documents confirming the car as road worthy in Germany. There are also receipts in the file for more recent parts from Classic Alfa, Alfaholics and John Williams. The current specification is as follows: 2.0 litre DOHC engine, Colombo and Bariani cams, 10:4:1 pistons, lightened and balanced flywheel, new clutch, re-jetted Solex 40s, 4-branch exhaust manifold, limited slip differential, Bilstein shock absorbers and lowered and up-rated springs. With 12 months MoT and current Tax, this vehicle is an ideal starting point for anyone looking to get into road-rally or historic touring events. And with such a stunning period-style livery, who could argue with today's guide price?
