DESCRIPTION
Jaguar introduced the E-Type in March 1961 to worldwide acclaim. By May of that year, it had won its first race held at Oulton Park driven by Graham Hill. Success on road and track was to continue right up to 1974, with over 70,000 E-Types eventually produced in Coventry.
On first sight, Enzo Ferrari described it as "the most beautiful car ever made" and most people would agree he was not wrong!
This car is a Series 3, which was introduced in 1971 and built until 1974 with uprated brakes and power steering as standard. The convertible used the longer 2 plus 2 floor pan and the fabulous Jaguar 5.3 V12 engine delivers ample power through its automatic transmission.
KNB 937N is an original UK supplied V12 roadster first registered 13th May 1975. Purchased by the current owner in May of 1997, having covered only 42,000 miles, it now shows a documented 51,200. The 27 MOTs that accompany the car indicate that most of the car's use was in its first 5 years; in fact in the last 34 years it has only done 23,778 miles.
Presented in its original colour combination of Signal Red with Biscuit interior, the car is very original throughout (although the stowage box was professionally modified in 1996 to accommodate two seats). We are informed by the vendor that it drives well with no known faults.
The current owner has spared no expense in maintenance. Within the last 3,600 miles, the receipts in the well-documented history file show investments of £12,800 with "The Jaguar Specialists" of Kingsteignton. Furthermore, the vehicle has benefitted from a new Mohair roof and catches, new carpets, boot lining and interior door panels carried out by the respected trimmers, "Autotrim", during the summer of this year at a cost of £3057.00.
Now offered for sale for the first time in 16 years, it offers the chance for a new owner to enjoy some superb motoring from a classic British marque.
