SUMMARY

A wonderful example of the innovative Rover P6 3500S, splendid in Monza Red and ready for the show field this summer.

DESCRIPTION

  • The 3500S was top of the Rover P6 range, launched in 1968 with a strengthened all-synchro 4-speed manual gearbox
  • The Buick-derived 3,528cc V8 generated 161bhp and offered 0-60 in nine seconds and a top speed of 123mph, impressive for 1968
  • Acquired by our fastidious vendor around five years ago, he had set about finding the very best example he could to enjoy his weekend shows
  • Supplied in Birmingham in the mid-1970s, the car's second keeper had it for around 30 years before it was offered as a rolling shell for restoration
  • A superb restoration by Priory Engineering followed, including a colour change from Sandalwood to the Monza Red it wears today
  • Subsequently residing in Yorkshire for around ten years, it was used mainly for showing and always garaged
  • A new car arriving soon means our vendor has to make space hence this wonderful car returning home to Birmingham, in search of its next keeper
  • Guided very sensibly for such a super example, we wouldn't be surprised to see some active bidding for this lovely local car
