Jaguar XJ12 5.3 Coupe

Jaguar introduced the 2 door 'XJ Coupe' model, called the XJ-C in 1975 and built it until 1978, based on the short wheel base version of the XJ saloon. They built 6505 4.2 six cylinder cars, but just 1,873 of the 5.3 V12 engine versions over the 3 year period and just 329 of the V12's in 1977. They were the flagship of the Jaguar range at the time and only available as an automatic with a walnut dashboard, leather upholstery, vinyl roof and air conditioning as standard.

This particular car was one of just 329 V12 Coupe's built in 1977 and was sold new to the then deputy Chairman of ICI and has since had just 2 further owners. The car has extensive early history (including all M.O.T's from new) in the file with lots of original documentation, including all invoices and the original handbooks and service books. The vendor has owned the car since 1984 and has given the car regular and continuous maintenance ever since. In the mid 1990's he carried out a full restoration which is documented and photographed in the comprehensive history file which included new front wings and new sills as well as a full professional repaint.The car still features the original Tudor Webasto sunroof, Radiomobile radio/tape player, chrome hubcaps and a new stainless steel exhaust.
