1977 Volkswagen Karmann Cabriolet - Triple White

The story of the Beetle is well known; it was initially designed to provide cheap transport for the hard working German masses. Built in very small numbers before and during World War II, the Beetle literally rose from the ashes of Volkswagen's bombed-out Wolfsburg factory to become an instant success in Europe, Britain, America and virtually every other country in the world.

The model evolved through various facelifts and numerous mechanical changes - there were more than 70,000 identifiable modifications - and it provided a platform for other models, including commercial vehicles and sporting derivatives such as those by Karmann Ghia. It was this constant development and attention to detail which allowed the Beetle to maintain its position, and as production raced past the 15,000,000 mark, the Beetle went on to be crowned as the best-selling car of all time.

Imported from sunny California USA this original and rare VW Beetle Triple White was a solid car sourced as a good foundation for an extensive restoration project. The car was stripped back to bare metal and a high quality repaint was undertaken. The Beetle was then rebuilt replacing any worn or damaged parts with genuine VW parts where possible along with refurbishing serviceable parts.

Acclaimed VW trimmer Bernard Newbury trimmed the interior of the car in real leather, the result is fantastic and looks like new. A retro look Becker radio with modern under-pinnings was also fitted which really adds lovely detail and finishes off the interior.

The engine has largely been kept in its standard configuration but with the addition of an upgraded carburettor kit in the form of twin 40mm Solex carburettors.

Having had over £20,000 spent on the project this Beetle is presented in fantastic 'like new' condition and as a result has received honours and praise at many car shows. This is a truly useable show quality car that you can be proud of.
