SUMMARY
Some cars just 'sit right', and this low mileage, low ownership 1979 RS2000 Custom appears 'on the button'.
DESCRIPTION
- Launched in 1976, an RS2000 Custom was an extremely aspirational purchase, with the distinctive polyurethane 'droop snoot' front-end and air dam, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, SOHC, Pinto engine offering 0-60mph in just 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 108mph, these cars were rather special
- In late 1978, the 'Custom Pack' became an option and included 'Fishnet' Recaro seats, full door-cards, clock and pod centre console, 6J x 13″-alloys, boot carpet, remote drivers door mirror and the back panel around the rear lights was painted black
- Finished in Venetian Red, this smart example has covered just 42,695 miles from new (at time of cataloguing)
- It's showing two former registered keepers on the V5 and will have a fresh MOT prior to the sale
- The, possibly quite valuable, registered number '895 F' will remain with the car

Vehicle History
Remarks
The car has just had a full service and a fresh MOT until March 2024 issued with no advisories. The vehicle was purchased new in the company name of Kinneil Garage LTD. Grangemouth Road, BO’NESS EH51 0PN. Of which Mr G Mitchell was part of the management. The registration 895 F I understand was put on the vehicle from new. Mr G Mitchell then purchased the vehicle from the company and registered it into his name. Mr G Mitchell kept the vehicle until his passing. Over this time, it was sorn for many years. We have a record from 2005 until 2013. On Mr G Mitchell passing, the vehicle was transferred to a family relative, Mrs Hutt who then sold the vehicle. Owner 1 Kinneil Garage. Owner 2 Mr G Mitchell. Owner 3 Mrs Hutt. Owner 4 Myself. So technically owners 1 and 2 are the same person and owner 3 was on registered due to the death of Mr Mitchell. The car shows 2 former registered keepers on the V5. History, unfortunately, most of the history was lost due to the passing of the previous owner but I do have: The Sorns certificates Some old MOT’s Some services history and parts invoices 2 keys Copies of the old registration document Original Radio manual Original Operating guide Original Ford Accessories book Original Ford Operation and Care manual Original Owners handbook. Original Number plates.
