Flawless Venetian Blue Metallic coachworkand only 16,092 miles.
DESCRIPTION
This 1981, 3.3-litre, 300bhp, UK-supplied 930 Turbo has covered a mere 16,092 miles from new
Finished in Venetian Blue Metallic with Black leather and blue-checked (Pasha) velour interior
The paintwork and interior present almost to a Concours standard with factory panel gaps and a deep shine
Fitted with un-blemished Fuchs alloys wearing Michelin Primacy HP tyres
Porsche wallet containing the fully stamped (main dealers) service book, old MoTs, and servicing/maintenance receipts
This very low mileage 930 Turbo in almost showroom condition could take pride of place in any car collection
During 1977/78, the 930 Turbo's capacity went up from 3.0 to 3.3-litres and an air-to-air intercooler was positioned under the rear spoiler. The spoiler was re-profiled and raised slightly to make room for the intercooler assembly, and this meant saying goodbye to the whale-tail' and welcoming the equally distinctive tea-tray'. By cooling the pressurised air charge, power was increased from 260bhp to 300bhp, bringing the 0-60 mph time down to 5.0 seconds, and the larger engine helped reduce a lot of the turbo lag inherent in the earlier version. Porsche also upgraded the brakes to units similar to those used on the 917 race-car but was able to keep the original strengthened gearbox, which had the benefit of freeing up space inside the casing for larger and stronger gear clusters, with an impressive torque capacity of 475lb ft.
This beautiful, Uk-supplied, right-hand drive 1981 Porsche 930 Turbo is finished in Venetian Blue Metallic with a black leather and blue check (Pasha) velour interior. It has covered a mere 16,092 miles from new which is corroborated by old MOTs and documentation in the car's history file. The paintwork is superb, almost Concours standard, with a deep shine and factory panel gaps and the car sits on unblemished Fuchs alloy wheels wearing Michelin Primacy HP tyres.
The original interior is in excellent condition, showing no signs of wear, and we understand all the gauges work as they should as does the interior lighting. The dashboard looks immaculate, the switchgear operates as intended, and the original Panasonic radio-cassette player and electric aerial are in working order.
We are informed that the engine is original and is in excellent condition starting on the button every time and sounding as smooth as a 'Swiss Watch'. The main dealer service history is a testament to the way the car has been cared for throughout its life and obviously, no expense has been spared in maintaining it. The clutch feels light in operation with no slippage and the gearbox allows all gears to be selected and operates as you would expect.
This terrific UK example, having covered just 16,092 miles from new, is accompanied by its Porsche wallet that holds the fully, main dealer, stamped service book and receipts from maintenance and attention over the years.
It's unusual to come across such a pure and unmolested 911 Turbo and in this delightful colour, with flawless paintwork and a fresh interior, this stunning car can take pride of place in any collection of classic Porsches.
