SUMMARY
Superbly presented T25 Camper fresh from £35,000 professional restoration.
DESCRIPTION
Background:
The 1980 Volkswagen Type 2 (T3) Type 25 Camper is a beloved member of Volkswagen’s iconic van family, following in the footsteps of the classic 'Bay' window camper. The Type 25, also known as the T3, marked a significant visual departure with its boxier, more modern design, being wider, longer, and featuring a larger glass area. With improved handling and increased interior space, the T3 Camper quickly became a popular choice for travellers and outdoor enthusiasts. Powered by the reliable air-cooled flat-four engine, it was known for its ruggedness and practicality, making it a true classic on the road.
Description:
This superb 1980 Volkswagen Type 2 (T3) Type 25 Camper is an original UK-supplied, right-hand drive example that was first registered on 29th January 1982. It is powered by a 1,970cc, 70bhp air-cooled flat-four engine, featuring twin Solex 34 PDSIT-2/3 carburettors.
Having undergone a £35,000 professional full-body restoration, this camper is in excellent condition. The restoration was carried out by a respected Volkswagen specialist under the vendor's instruction and completed in July 2024. The work included repairing or replacing all rusted panels, a complete respray, and the replacement of all seals. The van has been fitted with a new HiTop and a new electric hook-up to the rear. All mechanicals have been refreshed, ensuring it is in excellent working order. Detailed invoices and photographic documentation of the restoration are available for inspection at the auction, offering full transparency on the work carried out.
With the values of earlier Volkswagen campers such as the 'Splitty' and Bay steadily rising, the Type 25 is following suit, making this recently restored example an incredibly sensible investment.
Summary:
A superbly restored 1980 Volkswagen Type 25 Camper, benefiting from a £35,000 professional restoration. In excellent condition and fully refreshed, this example represents a fantastic opportunity for any Volkswagen enthusiast.
