DESCRIPTION

  • Suzuki started producing bike engines in the 1950s and soon became one of Japans biggest motorcycle manufacturers
  • Trading partly under the Colleda brand, they entered GP racing in the early 1960s
  • By the mid 1960s they were racing under the Suzuki banner and started to gain a reputaion for relaible race winning machines
  • During the 1970s, they reinforced their race-winning reputation with Barry Sheene winning two World Championships in 1976 and 1977 on RG500s
  • This European-winning machine was ridden by successful Italian racer, Leandro Becheroni, in 1981
  • Presented in good overall condition, has been on display for last year or so, so would require recommissioning before use
  • Restored to its current condition and complete with various documents from Leandro Becheroni including invoices and photographs
  • Painted in its current blue and white when restored from its original red and yellow scheme
  • Great opportunity to own a genuine historic racing Suzuki
