1981 Toyota Corolla GB Rally Car

This Corolla has been a rally car since 1981. It was first prepared for Peter Ripley, a semi works driver, for Toyota GB and still maintains original parts from TRD (Toyota Racing Department). A copy of the Ulster rally results from 1983 accompany the car and the scrutineering sticker from this rally is still on the roll cage, along with a picture of the car rallying in period. The original Homologation form and the original parts list of TRD and other paperwork can be found in the history file.

The shell has been strengthened and the roll cage is built to 'Works' specification with brackets to the "A' pillars. It is believed that it was subsequently sold in 1986 and placed into a private collection. The previous owner, a very experienced rally driver, acquired it in 2010 and re-commissioned it, keeping originality a priority. The rear axle was overhauled and powder coated along with the front suspension. New seats, additional brace to the roll cage for the belts, new extinguishers, belts, brakes, fuel lines, hydraulic handbrake, were professionally fitted. He rallied the car with great success and also drove it at Race Retro 2012. Its last outing was the Premier rally 2012.

The car is in remarkably original condition and has full MSA historic papers. We are informed that there is only one other Toyota TE 71 rallying in Britain.Specification of note includes; strengthened shell, wired for auxiliary lights, Monty AP calipers, 1600 push rod with 151 bhp (with dyno sheet), five linked and rose jointed rear axle, lsd, high ratio steering box, recent new springs all round, rear Bilstein suspension, wide sump guard. race seats and belts, magnesium Mininlite wheels.

Spares package includes; new pistons, rings, joints and water pump, 4 magnesium Minilite wheels, racing gearbox from TRD, a complete engine, new suspension parts and starter motor, A full list can be found in the cars comprehensive history file.Offered due to a change of plan by our vendor this car is ready to go, and is rare and very original.
