SUMMARY
A rare surviving pre-RHD production prototype, substantially restored a few years ago.
DESCRIPTION
- One of the 17 pre-production prototype right-hand drive Quattros.
- Early 'C' chassis number car from 1982. Date of first registration in the UK 01/01/1983
- From 30 years ownership. Full restoration by marque specialists in 2014 (c£20K)
- Glass out respray in Tornado Red with all the right period decals in place
- Suspension stripped and shock absorbers, bushes and bearings renewed
- Upgrades include later 8” Ronal alloys in the correct Zermatt Silver, later twin-piston front callipers, Quattro specialist bespoke stainless exhaust system and flat-fronted Cibie lights
- Engine runs well having had a recent service including a cam belt and water pump change, a new O/S engine mount and stainless heat shield
- Recent MOT but not used much over the last 20 years so will require some recommissioning. The Ivory diagonal stripe leather interior has been tidied but is less than perfect and there are some electrical gremlins
- An ultra-rare car, sensibly guided to allow for further tidying
OYN 1Y is the Audi's original number and will remain with the car.
