1985 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalve

October 1975 saw the debut of the most successful shape ever to wear the Cavallino Rampante emblem. Over 20,000 examples of all engine types and sizes were produced from 1975-1989.

The 3 litre four cam V8 was more or less unchanged until March 1981 when Bosch fuel injection was added in place of the 4 double choke Webers, the Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection dropped its power to 214 hp. Two years later, the 4-valve per cylinder Quattrovalvole or QV model pushed output back up to 240 hp restoring the performance. The European version boasted higher horsepower than the American model due to lightness and less stringent Federalizing. Only 748 308 GTB QV models were produced.

European 308 GTB QV and 308 GTS QV models are considered by many to be the most collectible 308 due to its subtle styling (deep front valance, racing mirrors, short lightweight bumpers) and speed as the fastest of all 308s produced.

Showing a mere 10,318 warranted miles from new our vendor has owned the car since 1987 showing 2 previous keeps the first being the supplying dealer H.R Owen in 2nd January 1985.

The car is presented in superb untouched condition showing only minimal signs of use. Despite having spent much of its life tucked away in our vendors garage the car has extensive MoT history from 1988 until 2011 with only more recent MoT's missing along with only a hand full not present throughout its life detailed as followed 1990, 1991, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2009.

Presented also with the original handbooks the car has service records up to the most recent in 2006 with Bob Houghton Ferrari for a cambelt service. Prior to the sale the car will be taken to Terry Keys Ferrari Specialists to undergo a cambelt service and will be presented for auction with a fresh MoT.
