1987 Ferrari Testarossa

The amazing and thoroughly exotic Ferrari Testarossa was first introduced as a 5.0 litre, 12 cylinder mid-engined sportscar in 1984. It was the successor to the Berlinetta Boxer. Instantly successful worldwide, the car then went on to have various derivatives - the 512TR and F512M, but it is the original cars with the 'twin mirrors' (produced between 1987 and 1991) that are now recognised as the most collectable and rare. With 440bhp and 500 newton/metres of torque, 0 - 60 came in just 4.7 seconds pushing on to a top speed of 196mph.

This original UK supplied car was first registered on 17th March 1987 to Mr Stephen Barratt of the Jaguar specialists SNG Barratt. D450 OOP was used sparingly by its first owner and found its way to the current owner in the late 1980 at a time when Testarossas were selling for in excess of £150,000. The original service booklet details early expenditure up until 2003, when the car was serviced by Graypaul. From 2003 until 2013, the vendor had chassis number 069133 professionally stored in a heated environment. In ten years, the car covered a mere 500 miles but was regularly started and warmed up. Now reading only 22,700 miles, there are very few cars that have covered such low miles and are in such original, unrestored condition.

Finished in the best colour combination of Rosso Corsa with cream interior, this Testarossa was the subject of significant recommissioning with marque specialists Monza Automotive in March 2013. Included in these recent works was a full "engine-out' cambelt service, brake overhaul, window motor recommissioning and numerous other jobs that are detailed on the invoice. There are a number of pictures available that show the level of work carried out, along with a bill for over £5,000.

Closer to the auction, this car will be delivered to Terry Keys Ferrari specialists, where a full condition report will be available to perspective clients. Undoubtedly, chassis number 069133 makes an excellent investment opportunity as Testarossas of this quality become harder to find.
