SUMMARY

Classically presented in Brooklands Green, from ten years caring ownership and just 27,891 miles indicated.

DESCRIPTION

  • The limited edition 280 Brooklands was the last iteration of the Capri, bringing to an end a 20 year model lineage
  • Originally badged as the Capri 500, the name was changed to Capri 280 and some 1,038 examples were ultimately built
  • They were only available in Brooklands Green and consequently they have become known as Brooklands Capris
  • Based on the 2.8 Injection Special, the Brooklands boasted larger 15" alloy wheels and the fully-optioned interior was trimmed in Raven Black leather
  • Powered by a Cologne V6 engine developing 160bhp with a 5-speed gearbox, limited-slip differential and power rack and pinion steering
  • Destined to be an instant classic, the Brooklands Capri quickly sold out and they command a significant premium today
  • This unrestored example comes from ten years current ownership with just only former registered keepers
  • Just 27,891 miles indicated which our vendor believes to be correct, supported by its online MOT history back to February 2006 at 26,249 miles
  • MOT until May 2025 issued with 'no advisories'.

Remarks

The car is in good condition with very minor age blemishes on the body and the interior is in excellent condition. I have owned the Capri for ten years, covering a mere 1,000 miles in that time. The car has been kept in dry storage and moted most years with oil changes carried out regardless of mileage. This car must rate as one off the best unrestored 280 in existence, which creates a lot of interest when in public and many questions so the new owner must be prepared to be stopped and chatted with.Happy car with smiles per miles

Remarks

The car has sometime in its life had an upgraded radio cd changer fitted and a new Janspeed exhaust system which gives the car a meatier growl. The car is protected with extra alarm systems.

Vehicle History

Remarks

Bought 1st January 1988 from a dealership in Dumfries Scotland, The car still displays the dealership’s name on the rear window. The first owner was a mature gentleman who had the car fitted with headlamp washers and electric windows from new, these were not standard on the 280 Capri. Unfortunately the car doesn’t come with any service history to support the low mileage of 27,891 miles. I have researched the previous owners and have correspondence from the second owner who sold the car in 2012 which states the car was sold with low miles which is backed up by the DVLA website. This can been seen in the information pack.
