DESCRIPTION
- Whilst the Golf GTi stole the headlines in the 80s, the Astra delivered value top-down motoring to the masses and the GTE was the one to have
- This, low mileage, 8-valve example was enjoyed by just one owner for almost 30 years before being acquired by our fastidious vendor seven years ago
- He set about a sympathetic restoration, including bodywork repairs, a full respray, a new hood and more
- It's supplied with its original history file, the service book and even has one key to operate all doors and boot
- Many GTEs fell under the spell of the light fingered brigade, this coveted car was almost certainly kept under lock and key and doesn't it show
- Offered at No Reserve, these very desirable Astra soft-tops were built in smaller numbers than the Escort and Golf and are becoming hard to find
