1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC

The Mercedes '126' is a series of flagship vehicles produced between 1979 and 1991. Now regarded as the pinnacle of Mercedes build quality, 'S' Class models are now gaining respect and recognition of the classic car world and none more so than the range topping 560 SEC produced from 1985 until 1991. Regarded as the ultimate luxury coupe of the day, it was one of the most expensive cars in the world when produced and came comprehensively equipped as standard.

This particular car is an original right hand drive car ordered to UK specification but first delivered to Germany. All the original factory order and paperwork is present (including the UK brochure and price list) in a very comprehensive history file. All service invoices and prior M.O.T's are present which confirm the warranted 14,000 miles from new as totally correct.

Costing 148,627 Deutsche Marks when new, the specification of factory options included an electric sunroof, full climate control, an anti-theft device and orthapaedic seats in addition to the comprehensive standard items, such as heated electric seats with memory, a limited slip diff, electric steering column, self levelling suspension, ABS etc. There is also evidence of import duties paid when bought back to the UK during 1989 in the file.

The car has had just 1 owner from new, a distinguished and noted car enthusiast, although originally registered to a company employee ~ it was transferred to our vendors' name in 2009. It has been correctly maintained throughout it's life in line with the manufacturer recommended schedule mostly by Mercedes-Benz main agents and just the odd Mercedes Specialists. It also comes with 5 Lorinser alloy wheels with Pirelli P700 tyres which were the best after market alloy wheels available in the day.
