SUMMARY

Impressive Second Series 5-litre SEC distinctively presented in Signal Red with just over 73,000 miles.

DESCRIPTION

  • Derived from the flagship W126 S-Class of the late 1970s, the two-door SECs were uncompromisingly majestic powerhouses with super-confident pillarless styling by Bruno Sacco
  • Powered by the naturally-aspirated, M117.965, 4,973cc V8, generating 261bhp and 300lb/ft driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission
  • Despite its substantial weight, the svelte 500SEC could reach 60mph in 7.3 seconds on its way to 146mph
  • This fabulous example is on offer from eight years enthusiast ownership after being fully recommissioned by its previous keeper
  • Finished in Signal Red, over a 'créme-beige' leather interior and matching carpets. It sits on 15" alloys
  • Features include all round electric windows, air-conditioning, cruise control and its original Blaukrupt stereo
  • Supplied with the original handbooks, and will come to sale with new MOT
  • Now firmly considered as a modern classic, the SEC has a road presence and a build quality matched by few
