SUMMARY
A brand-new build, professionally prepared for the Porsche Club GB Motorsport 911 Challenge, just 30 laps testing and set-up complete so far and potentially eligible for many other series.
DESCRIPTION
Presented for auction at the 2023 Race Retro International Historic Motorsport Show is this professionally built Porsche 911 (964) Widebody race car that had been constructed to race in the Porsche Club GB 911 Challenge. The project started off with a good, solid, UK supplied, right-hand drive, 964 C2 bodyshell and this was stripped and fully rebuilt by a team of marque specialist engineers with over 75 years’ experience. Since the build was completed, the car has been tested and set-up over just 30 laps and is reported to perform very well.
A brief overview of the specification includes the following with a full spec sheet available on request; 3.6-litre, twin-spark engine with Jenvey throttle bodies mapped at 300bhp (running SCS Delta 900 ECU), LSD, close-ratio 'Classic America' gearbox, 3-way Tractive Electronic damper control/adjustable suspension with LCD touchscreen, motorsport pedal box linked to brake bias control, baffled fuel cell (with swirl pot) and motorsport fuel pump, new Sparco seats with harnesses in date, heated screen, extinguisher, isolators etc. The build also features custom spec 3-piece ‘Eta Beta’ split rims (Turbo Twists) new Yokohama tyres, lightweight RSR-style bumpers, an original RSR adjustable wing and the package is beautifully finished in fresh paint with current livery presenting in vinyl.
In summary, this is a box-fresh Porsche 911 race car that has been thoughtfully constructed in a professional workshop by a team of knowledgeable engineers. Although the intention was for this car to compete in the Porsche Club GB 911 Challenge, with the correct updates, equipment and papers if necessary, it could be eligible for many other series including, rally, sprint, hill-climb and Masters GT trophy etc.
All pre-sale inspections are welcome with the aforementioned spec sheet available on request.
