SUMMARY
Rare final-edition model, from ten years caring ownership and benefiting from c.£20,000 of investment. Period perfect styling, lightweight driving fun and 122bhp, a true modern-classic 'hot-hatch'.
DESCRIPTION
- The run-out edition 'Raider' was based on the Phase 2 R5 GT Turbo model and visual changes included a new grille, updated wheels and a colour coordinated body kit
- Technical developments included a water-cooled turbocharger, a small under-bonnet fan helped prevent fuel evaporation, whilst ignition mapping tweaks brought the power up to 120bhp
- The all blue Raider featured special metallic Sports Blue (PR449) paintwork, colour-coded wheels, blue Raider flat seat accents, Didier Auriol badges, a Raider rear screen sticker and a grey/black fabric-trimmed interior with grey carpet
- Just 85,614 verifiable miles, accompanied by a huge history file (two box files) with original Renault service books and manuals
- Forming part of our vendor's Collection since 2015 and subject to some £18,000 - £20,000 expenditure during this time. The engine was fully rebuilt (and photo-documented) by a Renault 5 specialist c.2,500 miles ago (including a turbo refurbishment and new radiator), the exterior was fully repainted ten years ago, the wheels refurbished (in correct colour with silver outer edge) and shod in Toyo Proxes tyres and the interior has been fully (and correctly) retrimmed, with all plastic trims refurbished and a new headlining
- The original Philips stereo is supplied with the car which remains in completely original spec, except for a Scorpion exhaust rear box and KONI adjustable coil-overs
- A collection of spare parts accompany the car, but the registration, G19 MDH, does not form part of the sale
