SUMMARY

Well presented all-wheel-drive Celica Turbo GT4 with performance upgrades.

DESCRIPTION

  • In order to homologate what became Japan's most successful rally car, 5,000 road-going versions of the ST185 were built
  • With 201bhp, the turbocharged 2-litre, 16v 4-cylinder offers 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds and 143 mph
  • Finished in Graphite Metallic with a beige cloth interior this example was imported from Japan in 1998
  • It was chipped at the time to 238bhp and a larger exhaust fitted and, according to our vendor "It's quicker and a bit louder than standard but not silly"
  • It's supplied with its V5 showing 6 former keepers, the original Japanese owner's handbook, original Japanese service/inspection forms, all the paper MOTs from 1998 to 2013 and then there are electronic records from that point. There is a handful of invoices to show maintenance in the UK but no other service history
  • Current MOT expires on 30th November. (only advisory was the rear discs which have since been replaced)
  • Overall the car presents well and is very sensibly guided for a rare Japanese driver-focussed Toyota with a bit of a cult following.

The air-con system is still present but does not work.
