SUMMARY
Off the road for five years and in need of some recommissioning, this Celebration is offered without Reserve.
DESCRIPTION
- The Celebration was the final iteration of Jaguar's XJ-S (later XJS). Its unique specification included chromed rear view mirrors and headlight surrounds, Aerosport diamond-cut alloy wheels, steering wheel with wood sections top and bottom, a black handbrake lever with full leather cover, a leaping Jaguar embossed into the leather in the upper part of the seat backs and contrasting piping around the seats and boot cover
- Powered by the naturally-aspirated, AJ16 4-litre straight-six, delivering 238bhp to the rear wheels through a 4-speed ZF automatic gearbox
- From 12 years current ownership and with six former registered keepers, this Celebration was first registered on 16/10/1995 and is finished in Sapphire Blue with Oatmeal leather
- An MOT failure in September 2019 (see Condition Report) and the car has not been used since
- There is a partial service history, with records of the previous services until 2018 (mainly Auto Classico). Work during our vendor's ownership is documented with receipts
- As with any classic car needing work to get back on the road, we would encourage any prospective bidders to come along to the Sale and inspect the car so they can see it for themselves what may, or may not need doing

Remarks
This is a 1996 Jaguar XJS 4.0 Celebration in Blue with Cream interior. I’ve owned it since December 2012 and put 60k miles on it driving it to work and for leisure to take the mileage to over 142k miles. As my only car at the time, it was regularly serviced by the Jaguar specialist garage, Auto Classico.

Remarks
There is a partial service history, with records of the previous services until 2018. All of the work I’ve had done on the car is documented with receipts. The stereo manual (and warranty) card is included in the document history. There are 2 keys, but the remote fob was temperamental when I last used it, and unlikely to work now. It failed its MOT in October 2019 because of: Nearside and offside inner seat belt anchorages strength or continuity significantly reduced; near side rear coil spring broken; nearside and offside inner suspension component mounting area excessively corroded; and nearside headlamp aim. At that point it was stored outside and started regularly. In this time, the brake lights stopped working, so the automatic gearbox wouldn’t automatically disengage out of Park and then the starter motor seized. Since December 2019, it has been stored in my garage and brought out occasionally to wash and pump up the tyres.
