The amazing Mercedes-Benz SL was first introduced in 1954 and has always been one of the most desired sports convertibles throughout the world ever since. Various models evolved throughout the car's production life, but this model is known as the 'R129' and was introduced in 1990 with a face-lift in 1994. The 'model to have' was the SL 500, which featured a 5 litre V8 engine, a full electrically operated roof mechanism and the first automatically deployed roll bar to protect the occupants in the unfortunate event of the vehicle turning over in an accident.
