DESCRIPTION

In terms of the 928, in 1989, Porsche moved the game on with the even more powerful 928 GT, which with a top speed of around 170mph was the Stuttgart firm's fastest production car at that time, before launching the model's ultimate incarnation: the 928 GTS. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1991, the latter boasted a 5.4-litre engine producing all of 345bhp and automatics were fitted with the much faster responding Dynamic Kickdown gearboxes setting them apart from the previous models. Externally, the GTS differed from the S4 with its new style of alloy wheels, flared rear arches and a body-coloured rear spoiler. What Porsche was not advertising when the 928 was released was the price which was amongst the most expensive cars on the road at the time. This severely hampered sales despite the model's level of competency and long standard equipment list. Porsche discontinued the GTS in 1995 after selling only 2,904 examples in total, which at the time was a problem, but in 2023 makes for a rare and incredibly desirable model.

This original, UK-supplied (C16) Porsche 928 GTS Automatic was first registered on 31st August 1995, and has covered 67,604 miles in the hands of our vendor and five former registered keepers. It's finished in the rare dark green hue known as Aventurine Green Metallic (93S) over a light grey leather interior and is fitted with a factory sunroof.

The previous owner tasked respected marque specialists, Autofarm, with carrying out a light recommission in mid-2022, however he appears to have become rather enthusiastic and the resultant 11-page invoice totals £28,638. As can be seen from our images, the car looks fabulous and the recent expenditure seems well-justified. It's accompanied by its original stamped service book, factory manuals, tools etc. and the MOT is valid until September 2024, and was issued with No Advisories.

The GTS was the ultimate incarnation of the long-lived 928, and this attractive, low-mileage, 345bhp, automatic, Aventurine Green example is about as good as it gets.
