1998 Bentley Continental T

The Bentley Continental 'T' is a rare and special beast, manufactured in Crewe between 1996 and 2002 with just 322 cars produced worldwide and subject to options, could have cost an eye-watering £234,000+ when new.

The 'T' differed from the 'R' by a shorter, sportier wheelbase and an increase in BHP from 400 to 420, but more significantly with 650lbs foot torque, the highest of any road car at the time and higher even than any F1 car from the 1997 season when the "T' was introduced. The January 1998 "Autocar' said of the car after road test; 'Astonishingly rapid for any coupé, let alone one that weighs the same as five and a half Caterham 7's!'

This very special example of the marque has what we believe to be unique options making it exceptionally rare. It is a January 1998 registered Continental "T' that has covered only 30,300 miles from new in the hands of just two owners, the first covering 24,260 miles in the period from 1998 to August 2008. It is finished in Metallic Kensington Green with black leather roof. To the interior are four high-quality green hide leather passenger seats and a seriously rare carbon fibre dashboard. As you would expect, the car is equipped with air conditioning, drilled alloy pedals, Blaupunkt Monte Carlo TCM radio with 10-disc CD player, tracker, webasto pre-heating system for cabin defrost and engine preheat function, plus an electrically powered headlight switch operated from the cockpit to adjust the headlights for European roads.

The wheels are chromed 18" Alloys, five in number, and they sport Alcon ceramic brakes which were a specially optioned and incredibly rare factory fitting. This exceptional car is accompanied by a continuous service record schedule from supplier, HR Owen, to Bentley Cardiff, to present day. It is as supplied from Crewe by Bentley with the special options like ceramic brakes and carbon fibre dashboard especially specified and factory fitted.
