DESCRIPTION
- The Impreza WRX STI Type R was introduced to the Japanese Domestic Market in January 1997. Utilising the two-door bodyshell it had several features aimed directly at homologation for rallying and this is the model that Prodrive used for its Group N customer cars and was also the donor vehicle for the Group A WRC in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000
- The two-door body is slightly stronger/stiffer than the four-door RA and a solid rear bulkhead increased torsional stiffness even further
- Apart from the bodyshell, differences between the Type R and the JDM four-door STi models included a short-ratio gearbox, an adjustable Electromechanical Centre Differential (DCCD), the absence of ABS, Intercooler water spray, two opposed pistons on the rear brake calipers (instead of four) and some cosmetic differences like rear tinted glass, a radio/aerial delete, and the 555 SWRT seats
- From nine years current ownership, this Type-R, Version 4 was imported into the UK from Japan in 2009 and has covered just 64,155 miles (103,249 km)
- Two years ago the car had a full bare-metal respray including the engine bay, underside and all the running gear
- The list of modifications, maintenance and upgrades etc. on this fabulous Impreza runs to two pages and there is simply not enough space here. Our vendor has listed most of it in the Condition Report. We encourage your inspection of this special Subaru.

Resprayed 2 years ago. Paint work very good condition. Trim is in good condition a lot of it is the original trim because Subaru do not make it any more, some bits don't fit the best. Alloy wheels Ultraleggeras brand new only 500 miles on then. Driver's side window has a few scratches on it.

Engine spec: Engine has been rebuilt, heads skimmed and blocks decked. Brand new genuine Subaru crankshaft with acl race bearings Forged Mahle pistons and conrods. Roger Clark head gaskets and super sturdy head stud kit. Killer Bee sump baffle new genuine oil pump all new genuine Subaru gaskets refurbished VF34 turbo with upgraded inpeller wheel. Upgraded Roger Clark fuel pump and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I have all the receipts.

All running gear has been sand blasted and resprayed all bearings have been replaced with genuine Subaru bearings all bushes have been replaced with genuine Subaru Group N bushes (as the factory-spec). Nuts and bolts have been replated or replaced.
