DESCRIPTION
- After years of winning multiple championships in the 125 and 250 classes, Aprilia entered the World Superbike Championship with their new 1000cc RSV Mille platform
- Campaigned by Troy Corser and Noriyuki Haga with some success in the early 2000s, the bike was a real force to be reckoned with
- The RSV Mille SP (Sport Production) is a limited-run 'homologation' bike and was very different from the road bike on which it was based. Only 150 were built and this example is Number #142
- It had a similar frame to the road bike but featured an adjustable headstock and swingarm pivot, fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, and Brembo brakes
- The engine was developed by Cosworth, and featured a shorter stroke with a larger bore, sand-cast casings, Cosworth heads and a bespoke 'shotgun-style' exhaust. Generating around 150bhp and wrapped in carbon bodywork, it's a real race bike for the road
- Indicating 15,168 miles, it has recently been treated to a sympathetic refresh by AP Workshops including fresh paintwork, new tyres, new suspension linkages, and fresh discs and will have a new MOT at the time of sale
- Supplied with its current V5C, original handbook, some service history, and old MOT and tax information
