Over the years there have been a number of 'special edition' Land Rover Defenders released including the 90 SV, Defender 50th, and the Heritage. Possibly the best known special edition was the "Tomb Raider" from 2000 which was created to commemorate Land Rover's role in the first film of that franchise. Designed to look like an off-road expedition vehicle, it was finished in Bonatti Grey metallic paint with special badging and details and came equipped with a roof rack and roof rack support system (looking similar to a roll-cage), additional spotlights, winch, bull-bar, raised air-intake and Pewter Grey 'Boost' alloys wheels. They were available either as a 90 or a 110-inch double cab, with standard Td5 engines. The Defender actually used in the film (now on display at the Motor Heritage Centre, Gaydon) was a highly modified 110 HCPU with a specially fitted and tuned V8 petrol engine and a non-standard interior.

Offered here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive Land Rover Defender 90 ‘Tomb Raider’ edition believed to be one of 250 produced.
