SUMMARY
A Professionally built and exceptionally well maintained Alfa GTV race car, with minimal recent use, representing an ideal means of entering affordable club-level motorsport.
DESCRIPTION
The car:
This distinctive and handsome Alfa Romeo GTV V6 was built from a 2003 road car as an Alfa Romeo Owners Club racer over the winter of 2012 by Roger Evans at Peak Alfa. All sound-deadening was removed from the solid bare shell before a Custom Cages rollcage (R2046 MSA Safety K) was supplied and fitted by the manufacturers.
Power is provided by a brand new 3.2 Busso engine from Alfa Romeo, with CDA airbox and twin oil-coolers, re-mapped to race-spec and producing around 275bhp, mated to a 6-speed gearbox (rebuilt by a specialist in 2016) and Q2 torque bias differential.
The build quality is first-class and the car benefits from a custom aluminium radiator, 330mm front discs with Brembo 4-pot calipers and Ferodo race pads and boasts adjustable brake bias with over-braid hoses all round.
The car has been lowered and features stiffened, re-bushed suspension with adjustable dampers. It comes with Team Dynamics 8 x 17 wheels (6) and Federal 595 RS tyres (two new).
There is a 45-litre custom-built aluminium fuel tank with internal high-pressure pump and the interior features an OMP Record seat (‘05/’06), a TRS 6-point harness (new in 2017), a Momo 3-spoke suede steering wheel and a plumbed-in FEV fire extinguisher system (re-certified in 2022).
Just this year the car has had over £1,000 spent on tubular manifolds and a new exhaust system alone. Further work totalling nearly £4,000 includes a new clutch, replacing the cam belts, a full service, all rear bushes replaced with Powerflex polybushes, a new starter motor and a new alternator.
The car has had little race use over 2016 – 2020 seasons, running reliably in just 12 selected CSCC Modern Classics events during that time, and has been used for hillclimbs and sprints from 2020 - 2022.
It is suitable for racing in the AROC Championship’s V6 class or various other classes and championships, including (but not limited to) CSCC ‘Modern Classics’, 750 MC ‘Roadsports’, BRSCC Alfa Romeo Championship, hillclimbing, sprinting, track days etc.
This car can be run by Bianco motorsport in any UK and European championship on a very competitively-priced basis. The car has been maintained by them regardless of cost over the last few years.
The car is not road registered and has no V5. Its Motorsport UK Passport Number is 43150.
Summary:
This well-built and maintained GTV offers a sonorous V6 soundtrack to accompany an introduction to club-level motorsport, either run by an expert team or by the new owner.
