SUMMARY
Single family ownership from new, just 12,400 miles and fresh from a recent recommission.
DESCRIPTION
An entirely new Aston Martin for the 21st Century, the V12-engined Vanquish Coupé debuted at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2001. Aston Martin's first power unit of its type, the 5.9-litre, 48-valve, V12 engine (first seen in the DB7 V12 Vantage) developed 460bhp at 6,800rpm, with 400lb/ft of torque available at 5,500rpm. The 6-speed gearbox was controlled by F1-style paddles and could be operated in either of two modes - fully manual or computer-controlled automatic, with a Sport setting available on both. The inventory of standard equipment included almost everything the discerning connoisseur could wish for, while the performance - 190mph and 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds – placed the Vanquish firmly in the supercar class. Dominated by an imposing aluminium centre console, the interior featured Connolly leather upholstery and Wilton carpeting, emphasising the Aston Martin heritage, for despite its advanced specification, the Vanquish was built like all other Astons before it - one at a time and by hand.
Finished in silver with a contrasting navy blue interior, this particular Vanquish has covered just 12,400 recorded miles since rolling off the production line in 2003 prior to being registered to Aston Martin for use as a demonstrator within their dealer network. Used sparingly for the first few years of its life until the then custodian took the decision to move abroad in 2014, with the Aston being placed in professional storage until its future could be decided. In the event, it remained in storage for the next ten years but, once released from captivity, a schedule of recommissioning was decided upon, firstly with Aston Martin Nottingham for a general service and check over followed by a move south to David Such, Marque Specialists (V12Vanquish.com).
They were tasked with completing a thorough overhaul, befitting a vehicle of this stature, including a full fuel-system refresh, the fitting of an OEM rear suspension kit and new dampers all round, a complete brake overhaul and four new Michelin P5 tyres. In fact, anything that was required received attention, returning the Aston to the road for the first time in over a decade.
With a comprehensive service record at Aston Martin Leeds prior to being interred and the substantial amount of work recently completed, this low-mileage, family owned from new Vanquish is now ready for its next custodian, presented fresh from recommissioning and ready to be enjoyed once again as intended. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate this Grand Tourer and the opportunities that it brings.
