Background:
Bodied in lightweight aluminium and styled to echo the iconic E-Type, the X150 XK8 is the modern classic convertible that drives as well as it looks, thanks to Aston Martin’s Ian Callum’s fine design work. The X150 was the second and final generation of the Jaguar XK 2+2 grand tourer dynasty, which built on the success of the XK8 and carried off the same concept in a modern, world-beating package.
The Car:
This lovely 2006 example carries the much-loved 4.2 V8 mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, tasked with putting the 296 horses onto the road.
The vendor advises that the car was specced from new with factory sports seats, which further enhance its sporting credibility. Eight service stamps can be found in the car’s history. The car works perfectly and as intended, as does the electric roof.
