DESCRIPTION
Introduced at the New York Motor Show in April 2006, the Bentley Continental GT Convertible (or GTC) benefited from generally being considered affordable, even though it wasn't really, and proved an immediate sales success. The Convertible utilised the same smooth, powerful, twin-turbocharged 6-litre W12 engine as the GT Coupé. Electro-hydraulically operated, the luxuriously padded fabric roof stowed away, neatly revealing an interior of peerless refinement. The GTC was the first open-topped Bentley since the Le Mans-winning cars of the 1930s that could be considered a sports car. The engineering skills and vast budget of Bentley’s parent company had produced a car that was uniquely nimble and luxurious at the same time, with seamless power constantly on tap. With a 0-62mph time of 5.1-seconds, the GTC was the only car in its class that was as comfortable as it was fast.
First registered on the 13th June 2007, and supplied in Silver Lake Metallic coachwork with a Dark Blue Mohair power hood above a Cream leather interior, this stunning example has been sparingly used and lovingly cared for over the years. The car was garaged, stored and serviced each year in line with its service schedule at the original supplying dealership, Broughtons of Surrey, up to and including 2019, and fourteen main dealer service stamps are evidenced in the accompanying original service book. The car was stored and relatively unused throughout the three-year lockdown period but was back out of hibernation and treated in December 2024 to a full service at Silver Lady of Brentwood. Recent works have included a roof service and the fitment of a roof motor potentiometer, two new BOSCH batteries, front anti-roll bar C-links, new rear suspension O-ring and a brake system vacuum pump with only some 300 miles since the work was completed.
The supporting history file contains its leather-bound factory book pack, owner’s manuals, aforementioned service book, invoices, MOTs, and archive documentation from Bentley confirming its build data. some. Supplied to auction with less than 32,500 miles, your inspection is advised to appreciate the condition of this Bentley and interested parties will be comforted to know that the car will be supplied to its next custodian with a fresh MOT.
