SUMMARY
Stunning low-mileage late model example of the landmark Ferrari F430, with carbon ceramic brakes among the desirable options.
DESCRIPTION
Background:
Ferrari’s F430 replaced its predecessor, the 360, in 2005 after being launched at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. Designed by Pininfarina in collaboration with Frank Stephenson, the Director of Ferrari-Maserati Concept Design and Development, the new body shape generated more downforce without adding any drag.
The 430 used the same aluminium chassis, roofline, doors and glass as the 360 but looked significantly different, featuring the engine cover and rear lights from the Enzo hypercar and a nose treatment that echoed the Scuderia’s first ever mid-engined Grand Prix car, the 1961 World Championship-winning ‘Sharknose’ 156.
But perhaps the most significant element of the F430 package was the car’s all-new 4.3-litre V8. All previous Ferrari V8s were descended from the Dino racing programme of the 1950s but the new power-unit featured an all-new bottom end, lighter and narrower for superior packaging and boasted a 4-valve head, valves and intake trumpets taken directly from Ferrari’s Formula 1 V8 engines, combined to produce 490PS (483bhp) and 465Nm of torque at 5,250rpm, all of which added up to a 0-60 time of 3.6sec, with a top speed of 196mph.
Stopping power came from new Brembo/Bosch brakes, with a carbon fibre-reinforced silicon-carbide option, claimed not to fade even after 300+ laps of the Fiorano test track. With the E-diff active limited-slip differential and the first application of Ferrari’s manettino steering wheel-based control system, which allowed drivers to select from five different settings, altering the car’s ESC system, Ferrari was bringing its road car clients some of the benefits of its F1 programme.
The car:
This beautiful 2008/58 F430 F1 Coupé is a very rare late-2008 facelift car with upgraded engine, gearbox and other components from the F430 Scuderia. In stunning Daytona Nero Metallic, this F430 looks as good as it drives, sitting on 19" Titanium Alloy Wheels, revealing the Giallo calipers of the highly-desirable carbon-ceramic braking system.
The interior matches the exterior spec, featuring electrically-operated heated Nero Daytona Style Leather with Giallo Stitching finished with carbon fibre trim. Featuring matching carbon fibre driving zone and carbon fibre lower cabin, Nero leather rear bench and surrounds with special-order stitching, Nero carpets, leather headlining and Giallo rev counter, this is a special cockpit in which to enjoy the car’s performance. With climate-control, a radio/navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity and trye pressure monitoring, the interior wants for nothing.
This beautiful F430 boasts a full Ferrari/Specialist service history and benefits from recent F1 pump and front suspension bush replacement. It has a fresh MOT, is HPI-clear and ULEZ compliant.
Summary:
This stunning F430 has been cosseted by its three former keepers, covering barely 1000 miles a year. It is ready for some serious exercise, as its maker intended or to be kept in near-showroom condition as a strong investment.
