SUMMARY

One of the most handsome saloon cars of the last 20 years or so, with a Ferrari-derived 4.2-litre V8, just 59,000 miles with three previous keepers and the later ZF gearbox.

DESCRIPTION

  • A facelift model, overseen by Pininfarina, benefitting from revised bumpers, side-sills, wing mirrors (the latter carried over from the GranTurismo), a convex front grille with vertical bars instead of horizontal, new headlights and rear lights, with directional bi-xenon main beams and LED indicators, and a new navigation and entertainment system
  • All Quattroporte models (from 2008) utilised the 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox, with the 'DuoSelect' being discontinued
  • The front/mid-mounted engine is a dry-sump 4,244cc V8, with twin cams for each bank and 32 variably timed valves, producing 400bhp at 7,000rpm and 339lb/ft of torque at 4,500rpm
  • Recent work includes a new timing-chain and sub-frame overhaul, accompanied by much paperwork and its book pack
