2011-2021 Ford Fiesta R5-Evo X *

Up for auction at the prestigious Silverstone Festival, we present Nick Whale's exceptional R5 rally car that is sure to captivate motorsport enthusiasts. This Ford Fiesta R5, meticulously built on a recent R5 Ford Fiesta Shell, incorporates the running gear of the renowned Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, resulting in a powerhouse of tarmac rally performance.

This 2021 tarmac rally car was built between 2019 and 2021 by Roy Smith using a 2011 bodyshell. The shell was stripped, sandblasted, and seam welded prior to a professional cage being installed by Custom Cages. All new running gear and components were used, with initial parts costs alone totalling £140,000, and the work was finally completed in 2021, after lockdown, when papers were then issued by the MSA. The car's first competition was in November 2021, driven by the vendor and Auction Company owner, Nick Whale.

Competing throughout 2021 and 2022, the Fiesta participated in various competitions, including Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, and Brands Hatch, consistently achieving commendable top-ten results among a highly competitive field of cars.

More recently, in 2023, the car has been returned and maintained by the esteemed Dom Buckley Motorsport IRS, where the car has since undergone a complete refresh, including the engine, gearbox, and both differentials under the expert care of Neil and his team. The car is now turn-key and ready to dominate the circuit rally championship.

Coming equipped with a Drenth sequential paddle gearbox and three-way adjustable Reiger canister dampers, the 2,000cc engine, equipped with a 34mm restrictor, generates an astonishing 330bhp and 600Nm of torque. Its engine components include forged rods, pistons, roller bearing, twin-plate clutch, Cosworth chassis loom, Cosworth dashboard, and AP Racing triple-pot calipers. Inside the cockpit, the Sparco carbon seats meet FIA 8855-1999 standards, the Sabelt 5-point belts meet FIA 8853-2016 standards, and a flocked dash completes the professional racing environment.

Additional features include a dry-break fuel filling system, AP Racing pedal box, carbon door cards, and an R5 roof vent. Complementing the performance enhancements, the Fiesta comes equipped with 12 Speedline rims fitted with Michelin tyres.

The Fiesta possesses an impressive history file, including invoices for its construction, and is road-registered with a V5C. All safety equipment, seat belts and extinguisher are in date making this Ford Fiesta R5 ready for immediate rallying with a plethora of event options.

Highly competitive, this rally car stands as a testament to its exceptional value, and is attractively priced at less than half of its cost to build.
